26 Mar 09 | First day in Krabi - Ananta Burin Resort

If you've been to Krabi once, I would guarantee that you would not want to come back and you will want to go there again and again. Krabi Island is just like heaven on earth and a stress-free zone! If you're always stress round the year either in your job or in your studies, opt for Krabi. Beach holidays give a different feeling compared to a normal travel, eg Taiwan. Beach is really really really relaxing!

We booked Go Holidays from Air Asia, flight and resort for 4 days 3 nights at only RM750 for 2 persons. Really a good bargain and whenever you want to go for travel, aim for cheap flights and you can save hundreds/thousands of it!

Ananta Burin Resort ~ We received a free upgrade to swimming pool view upon our arrival. So good of them and this made our trip perfect! Although this resort is not in town and you have to walk about 10 minutes to the Aonang Town but I would rather walk because the service in this resort is really good, added up to the newly built resort and all the equipments there are pretty clean and new. Besides, they gave 2 complimentary mineral water every day.

Enjoying the breeze of Krabi Island....

At Aonang Beach, warning sign in case of Tsunami. Choi choi choi...

Sunset view at Aonang Beach.

Heaven heaven heaven ...... extremely relax!

We had our dinner at Tara Restaurant, Aonang. Coconut drink is a must whenever we're at the beach ground.

Justin enjoying his meal! From left, tomyam, chicken in coconut milk (extremely fattening) and then green curry pork. Very fattening food, so don't stay in Thailand for long.... =)

27 Mar 09 | Phi Phi Island Hopping

We decided to choose Phi Phi Island hopping other than Hong Island or Four Island or whatever. Phi Phi Island is the furthest among all and took about 45 mins to reach by speedboat. Speedboat will be more expensive compared to long tail boat. If you choose longtail, then prepare at least 1.5 hours to reach there. Phi Phi Island hopping cost bout 1200BHT per person and this is the most expensive compared to the rest too, but really worth it! The further the island, the more blue the sea is.

Breakfast at 8am before departing to Phi Phi at 10am.

Aonang Beach....

Speedboat to Phi Phi...

Other group's speedboat was like so fast, but ours.... seems like going to breakdown soon. Somemore they claimed it as HIGH QUALITY island hopping. Lolz....

First of all, we stopped here to pick up some Japanese passengers. And at the sametime, the speedboat failed to start its engine. Unlucky enough that we had to stay under the hot sun while waiting for them to repair the engine.

Still at the same place... do you think we can reach Phi Phi within the guaranteed 45 mins?? Let's see....

Finally, it was fixed..and now we were at Chicken Island. We didn't stop here for snorkelling because this was not part of our trip. To Phi Phi, you will pass by these little small island...

And our first stop was at Bamboo Island (if I remember it correctly). Well, Bamboo Island is a perfect place for swimming in its crystal clear water and not snorkelling because the corals here are not that beautiful.

This was soooo amazing and it became my office laptop's wallpaper. Feel so relax when I look at this pic!

We stopped at Phi Phi Lei Island for lunch and the tourguide told us that we would need to stop here for at least 1 hour because they need time to repair the speedboat. If failed to repair, they will change to a new speedboat. Again, this speedboat caused so much inconveniences to us. On the way, it stopped about 3 times because the engine failed to work.. sigh!

After lunch.... waiting for them to finish fixing the boat.

Speedboat was working again after repairing, and will it breakdown again? We will not know until we reach home safely at 4pm. The next stop was at Viking Cave, Phi Phi Lei Island. Viking Cave which is famous for its nesting sparrows and how the locals climb long lengths of bamboo to reach the nests without using any safety equipment – the birds nests are used for the Chinese delicacy ‘Birds nest soup’.

Snorkelling at Monkey Beach (hopefully I'm right with the name, really can't remember the fancy names) because I was too excited for the crystal water. haha..

And now, we were at Maya Bay, famous for its lovely snorkelling reef and spectacular scenery, now more famous as the movie ‘The Beach’ was filmed here. Maya Bay was our last stop.

This three pillars reminded me of the shipwreck cases, and will it happen to all of us here in the boat? Well, unlucky enough, the speedboat that we used to travel finally OUT OF OIL! Even a new tong of oil also finished, most prob the engine already out of order and consumed lots of oil and now, OUT OF OIL. Gosh.... the tourguide told us that we will need to wait for 30mins for the next speedboat to rescue us, but we waited and waited....

1 hour has passed, the sun was going down so soon, and few more minutes the sky will be dark. How can we afford to stay in the middle of the sea without food and drink for the whole night? The Japanese group were so stressed that they kept on call their Japan agency to complain. And, the Taiwan couple were so angry that they kept on scold the tourguide to call the Police since the travel agency next speedboat still yet to arrive. A relaxing trip finally ended with a stressful situation.

Finally, our rescue team arrived after 1.5 hours waiting in the middle of the sea... at least, I get to go home. What an unforgettable experience. Well, a lesson to learn from here, if you noticed that your speedboat kept on stop in the middle of the sea for engine repairing, quickly inform the tourguide to change a new boat immediately. Otherwise, you will end up like this!

We supposed to reach back to hotel bout 5pm, but now it was already 7pm. Sigh....

So tired after whole day in the sea, we had our dinner at McDonalds. Even at McDonalds, I felt as if the whole shop is waving, just like the sea's wave. Too long in the sea I guess... haha. Anyway, forget bout the unhappy incidents, but overall, the crystal clear sea is really satisfying.

28 Mar 09 | Elephant Trekking at Phunaka, Krabi

The next day we did not go for any island hopping because we assume that the environment is just the same, except for different name of the beaches. So, we decided to go for the elephant trekking at Phunaka, Krabi. 1 hour elephant trekking and also the entrance fee for Catfish farm cost bout 80BHT per person. Quite expensive tho....

Nothing much to blog here, pics will express everything!

I was so scared that I just hold the sit tight. Afraid that the elephant might mengamuk and throw us down. Hahahaha....

After that we headed to Giant Catfish Farm... Nothing much here, just to visit the farm and feed the hungry fishes...

Look at the hungry fishes....

Swimming in the evening...

Getting ready for more camwhoring and dinner at Aonang town ...

Colorful bus.... if only Krabi has a disneyland, then this bus is really suitable!

The last day at Krabi, so, capture as many photos as possible...

Tut Tut, from Ananta Burin to Aonang Town, pay about 40BHT per person. So expensive, I would rather walk...

Thought of getting this dress, but..... in the end I just walk off :(

We had our dinner at seafood restaurant. Since this was our last night here, so.... eat!!

It tasted good when you sipped both at the same time!

The fried garlic prawn on the right was really awesome, and the pork satay too.

Look at him.. enjoying his meal.

Pancake is very famous in Krabi, so... make sure you try them before you go back. Is just like roti canai, but crust type of roti canai.. Aih, I dunno how to explain, try it and you will know. Very delicious, 20BHT for one piece...

Overall, Krabi will be a perfect place to destress and also relax. If any of you wanna go there again, please let me know yea... I miss the deep blue sea and also the tamed fishes!
